BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Sept 26, CMC – Outgoing Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Ambassador Valeriano Diaz, says he hopes despite their differences, Caribbean countries will continue to work towards deepening their regional integration movement, CARICOM.

Diaz, who leaves the region on Saturday after four and a half year, said the European Union would remain “a trusted partner” as the region moves to consolidate its integration process.

"It was a pleasure serving in this region with its stable and long-time democracies and rich cultures. I hope that despite their differences, the countries of this wonderful region will give priority to their common interests and further progress towards regional integration, at their own pace,” he said, adding that the EU “will always be at their side”.
