PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Aug 23, CMC – Mayor of Port of Spain Louis Lee Sing Thursday threatened to take legal action against National Security Minister Austin “Jack” Warner after both men gave contrasting accounts of a meeting planned with a gang leader to deal with the upswing in criminal activities in Trinidad and Tobago.

I think he has crossed the line and it is a dangerous situation for this country. I am appalled that Minister Warner could put such a spin on this matter,” Lee Sing told a news conference, adding “I am not in the business of setting up people.

“I am …contemplating litigation against Mr. Warner for seeking to weave a tangle web as to how all this happen,” he added.

Warner, speaking to reporters at the end of the weekly Cabinet meeting on Thursday claimed that he stayed away from a meeting on Wednesday with gang leaders after he was of the opinion that Lee Sing had sought to “set him up”.
