Canadian born Police Commissioner and his Deputy resign

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, July 30, CMC – Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar Monday night confirmed the resignation of Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs and his fellow Canadian Jack Ewatski, who served as his deputy.

 

In a brief address to the nation, Persaad Bissessar also announced that National Security Minister Austin “Jack” Warner would be outlining new measures to deal with the escalating crime situation in the country.

Both Gibbs and Ewatski were appointed just over two years ago. Their resignations take effect from August 7.
