Hood calls it a day
ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, July 13, CMC – Former foreign affairs minister Karl Hood says he is quitting politics altogether, less than two months after he resigned from the government of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas.
“That is the end…I will not put myself through that again,” said Hood, who became a Member of Parliament in 2008 after winning the St George South East seat as a candidate for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I don’t regret serving my country but I will be taking my exit from that form of public life,” he added.
Hood resigned in May at the height of the infighting within the ruling that has resulted in the dismissal and resignation of several government ministers including the tourism and civil aviation minister Peter David.
At the time of his resignation, Hood claimed that internal differences were responsible for his decision.
