Mottley to Sinckler: 'Where's the beef?'
by Sandy Deane BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, June 27, CMC – The main opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Wednesday sarcastically asked the government to produce the 2012-13 national budget as it responded to the fiscal package outlined by Finance Minister Chris Sinckler earlier this week.
The BLP spokesperson on Economic Affairs, Mia Mottley, said that Barbadians were still awaiting the fiscal package indicating that it was neither for domestic consumption, nor was it intended to alter the state or condition of any single Barbadian. “There are a whole set of people still waiting on the budget. They are the forgotten ones who unlike the people that are working, have no job, and there was nothing in the budget yesterday that was intended to put them back to work within the next six to 12 months.
